College junior Jay Ram, immersed in this brave new world, observes: ‘If you step into a library today, everyone seems to be using ChatGPT.’
However, Ram also acknowledges a dichotomy among students’ usage of the technology: those who exploit ChatGPT as an unscrupulous shortcut and others who utilize it as a research tool, akin to a Google search.
